Historians are generally in
agreement that if Hitler had not interfered with the deployment
and use of the new Me262 jet fighters that the outcome of the war
might have been very different. At the minimum, the conclusion of
hostilities would have been delayed and been far more costly to
allied forces. The war would most probably have been extended into
1946 or beyond.
This mission will combine the Arado Ar234 and the Messerschmitt
Me262 in a loose recreation of a bombing raid that the Luftwaffe
mounted against the Ludendorf Bridge at Remagen following its fall
into American hands.
Since Aces High does not yet feature bridges as strategic targets
that can be destroyed, we will be attacking something else of strategic
value.
Missions remain tentative until the Group Commander slots are filled
and are subject to cancellation at any time and without notice.
Once the mission is confirmed, the operation will be launched as
planned unless exigent circumstances arise.
