Went up last night with Martin and did some formation work - was a lot of fun.

Martin, you flew the maneuvers very well, nice and smooth - being a good lead takes just as much skill as flying wing.

I think we did pretty good for not practicing!

Next time I'll run the AH film recorder and splice some shots from that in there, so maybe I could get a ground perspective - would look pretty cool.

I'd highly recommend downloading this high quality version of it, I put some effort into editing it, YouTube doesn't do it justice!

OR I'll let ya watch it on YouTube as well.

That is awesome!
Great video and excellent choice of music.

That TrackIR certainly makes a huge difference
with the videos!

Two things:

First, I went and ordered the parts I need to build
a 6DOF system using Free-Track. If all goes according to
plan I will be able to experience the thrill of
such wonderful views. Cool

Second, this video has me thinking that maybe
having an LCA Demonstration Team would be a
cool recuruiting tool (and would show off the LCA
as the elite that it is!).

Imagine some videos of the LCA like the ones
that the virtual Thunderbords made.
Would be awesome!

Thanks boss Cool

Good to hear ya got the equipment on order, it'll be well worth the time spent setting it up (I think it's fairly simple?).

A demo team would be sweet - but I think it'd have to be limited to 2 people (wing/lead) or 4 people (include 2 solo's), with the wing doing all the recording (so the positioning looks right) - otherwise everyone but the wing is all strung out behind the lead. I wish they'd update the netcode or do whatever is needed to fix that issue. It seems that Lock-On is the only sim that doesn't suffer from this "position bug".

The Virtual T-Birds are just awesome, their full length video is almost as good as watching the real thing - outstanding flying and editing skills.

Haha sounds good man. I just noticed I can't play that .wmv file with Windows Media Player - I think it has to do with this KLite codec pack, I think it encoded it in a format not supported by .WMV - will re encode/upload it.

its really amazing how much difference a trak ir or free trak makes when it comes to dog fighting or flying formation. i got a trak ir (a little pricy but well worth it) and it has helped out so much i never lose sight of the con.

A game I used to play many years ago called
Fighter Ace had a padlock feature that tracked
the bandit you selected and moved your gaze
so you were always looking in their direction.

Was a great asset in a fight (until they got on your six!)
